My name is Toni Ruiz and I’m a junior at Texas State University. I’m majoring in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Pre-Rehabilitation Sciences and will hopefully be going on to Physical Therapy School to eventually become a Physical Therapist working with athletes.
I first got into fitness my junior year of high school after about 2 years of bad physical therapy experiences and surgery dealing with a torn labrum in my right shoulder from playing softball. I found the gym and was able to get stronger not only physically, but mentally. The love for fitness just continued to grow exponentially and I now do CrossFit at a local gym in San Marcos every weekday and I also obtained my ACE Personal Trainer Certification. I’m a student intern for The Fitness School because I want to take my own experiences to serve our youth and help them find their own love for fitness and activity and allow them to see what it can do for their lives.
