I am a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, I am majoring in Athletic Training with a specialization in Strength and Conditioning and am working with UT Volleyball. With Athletic Training, I work under the guidance of certified Athletic Trainers to assist in the rehabilitation process of UT athletes, set up/take down practice, and provide treatment. In the past, I have also worked with Texas Performance Nutrition, the registered dieticians that work for Texas Athletics. After graduation, I plan on pursuing a Physical Therapy degree and hope to become involved with the United States Olympic/Paralympic Committee.
When I discovered the Fitness School and all it had to offer, a connection was instantaneous. I wanted to become a student intern to help inspire and educate the younger generation of today. With sedentary lifestyles becoming more prominent today, habitual exercise is crucial to begin from a young age. With this internship, I hope to share the benefits that fitness has to offer and redefine the definition of an “athlete”.
